Welcome to year 2 of the Rock and Ice Ultra
run over the lakes in the
local Yellowknife area. The race for skiers, snowshoers and
runners has 3 races running concurrently: a one day 70
km race, a three day 150 km race, or a 6 day 250 km
race.
Worked again as the Safety Director
responsible for racer safety and tracking for the first
two days of the race. This year the weather was
far easier on the racers and most completed the first
day in good shape with only a couple of relay teams 'houring
out'.
Had the same great bunch of people
working for me as last year....doing route marshalling,
first aid, and search and rescue. and when the
logistical end of the race fell apart again, they all
reached deep and pulled it off again.
Next year l intend to
compete...........
